Losing bonus point, we did better than I anticipated, we got the rub of the green with the Czekaj try which basically kept us in the match
Not a bad showing but we will have to improve a lot to get anywhere this season !
Sam Norton Knight didn't do himself any favours, so the future (at the moment) looks like Sweeney

What a joke last night was, the game was poor, the crowd clueless and the rubbish coming from the likes of Gareth Edwards etc was cringeworthy.
Good to hear the Edinburgh captain saying it was not a rugby feel to the place and it helped his side and the BBC clown call the ground--"The city of Cardiff stadium"

Try watching the game at the ground instead of on the TV.
from one of the clueless crowd
IJM former Ponty Boy now seen the light.
Crowd 8,124
Some solo effort at chanting Bloos taken over by Cardiff chant.
Czekaj played well and scored a non try . Attributed by Johnathan Davies to white boots not showing on the line.
I thought Alfie acheived nothing until his try but Hewitt played well.
Sowden-Taylor definitely had a bad game and did our new Fly half. However, why the management threw him in first game at start is mystifying to me and unfair to him. I'll hold back for a while and see how he goes.
Leaking early tries and playing catch up seems to be our game plan now for a few seasons.

Why ?
I was there and felt the atmosphere was awful, Well until the high tackle that galvanised the support for a while.
Sadly the team, whilst, in part, trying were clearly second best. Thankfully Patterson left his boots at home and the Assistant Ref had a brainfart with our first try.
Can I ask Gareth Edwards, what he was expecting?
Looking at the last three posts. Again can I ask:-
"Bapp" in what way did the crowd appear clueless to you?
"MorleyIJ" Do you think tbat Cardiff Looked good last night?
"jimtrigg" Do you think the new outside half will come through?
To me the answers are:
1, Around me many appeared to be what is termed "theatre goers". I think that is the term.
2, I saw little other than the fact that the team were still in a game that they should not have been at the end. At least the team kept going.
3, So far the Aussie has looked the best of the outside halves the club has but a step down is class is evident compared wit hlast season.
It would also appear that the crowd are under the missapprehension that this clun is called Cardiff and not The Blues.
My mistake then. I thought it was still called Cardiff Blues

More in hope than expectation although Dai Young has been pretty shrewd on imports so far. Given the limits of his budget,
The team is "Cardiff Blues" not "Blues" and I believe the Cardiff has to stay while we play in Cardiff City's (Council) Stadium. Still anything might change in long term.
Jonathan Davies referred to 'Cardiff' a couple of times last night. On a different note, we watched it on television and there didn't appear to be much atmosphere. That said there was little in the first 50 minutes to inspire the crowd. Hopefully there'll be a full house for HK matches but other than that it will be difficult to achieve much atmosphere against CL teams with little travelling support on a Friday night or anglo-Welsh games on international weekends.
