Bapp:

Very sad news and he will be remembered for a very long time at Cardiff Arms Park.

When I read this post, I thought, "Who's Mike Budd?"  But after reading the news report in the Echo and seing who he played for and with and that he came to Cardiff from Bridgend RFC, I remembered him.

An excellent player who always caused Cardiff problems when we played Bridgend and was certainly glad when he came to Cardiff.

I echo Bapp's words and those of others on this site.

A cracking openside. People often look at the Bridgend stalwart connection and forget he was a Cardiff boy who played for Cardiff Schools and St Jo's (I think?).

He was very unlucky not to play for Wales and was a big influence in our Cup Final victory over Llanelli in 92 (ish).

Rest in peace.

I wonder if Cardiff/Bridgend RFC's will do something in his memory? They should do.
