Paul Moriarty on his way, no great surprise, it's been disappointing after last season's Championship.

Thank god Moriarty is going.

Did he jump or was he pushed?

Terry Holmes wouldn't be a bad choice, he did a good job in the rebel season, Lyn Howells came in afterwards to win the inaugural Welsh Scottish but he won it by basically buying it, one thing is for sure, that won't happen again !

P.S. Moriarty, pushed I would suspect.

Cue - latest breaking news, David Young has just been offered the prestigious post of Bath Rugby Head Coach, the replacement coach of Cardiff Blues has been announced as Paul Moriarty.

When pressed for a comment Peter Thomas replied, "Well he's cheaper than David Young so it's all in line with our new policy of trimming rugby expenditure so we can ensure Cardiff City Football Club are properly funded."

Well it could happen couldn't it !

Terry Holmes Cardiff through and through and a lot cheaper than Mike Ruddock, umm no contest as far as the limited company will be concerned.

I wonder who will apply, the fact that the closing date is incorrect may well frighten off some people.

Does it close on Tuesday 20th April or Wednesday 21st April

I'm guessing Ringo would be considered too much of a renegade !

Richard Hodges presently the head coach at Glamorgan Wanderers is rumoured to be the front runner.

Richard Hodges is the Cardiff Blues Communtiy & Coach Development manager.

Richard's background is with Rugby League and the Welsh Women’s Rugby Union.

He led Glamorgan Wanderers as Head Coach to their Highest Premiership league position 2008-09 season finishing in the top 6. This season 2009-10 Glamorgan Wanderers have slumped to 12th position, only just clear of relegation.

The record of the wanderers does not fill me with hope as to Hodge's suitability for the job. Ringo or Holmes for me.

Has either of them applied?

Big Smile

No I'm not that clever, anybody who can talk the Limited Company into giving a prestigious job heading up Cardiff RFC to a coach who was very fortunate not to lead Glamorgan Wanderers into relegation has to be a very capable agent. Of course if it is him that is the coach elect, it's probably because he comes cheap. With Cardiff RFC Ltd in perilous times thanks in no small part to the disastrous agreement with Cardiff City Football Club for a few days rent of their stadium, it's a wonder anyone is getting paid on time ! Wink

Whether it is Richard Hodges or not, is as yet unconfirmed, let's just hope that whoever it is they do a good job and put us back where we should be.
