Dear Supporter

Season 2009/10 is upon us !!! It’s been quite a busy off season with the Lions Tour of South Africa to keep us busy, but I’m sure that you are as ready as I am for the return of live rugby on a Saturday afternoon! We have an action packed season to look forward to with the defence of the Principality Premiership title and the launch of the new Anglo-Welsh Cup competition,  As usual CRSC will be offering trips to all Cardiff RFC and Cardiff Blues away matches. All trips will run subject to demand and we need your support to make these trips run ! So leave the car behind, hop on the bus with fellow supporters and enjoy a relaxing trip to watch your team play !!!

As explained last season, a new Supporters’ Club, dedicated solely to Cardiff Blues, has been set up to coincide with the move to the Cardiff City Stadium. It is our intention to focus our energies on Cardiff RFC but we will still offer buses to Blues away trips for our members – the first of which is in October to Sale. Details are again overleaf and on our website www.cardiffrugbysupportersclub.co.uk. For bookings – please call us or come to the Cabin.

We have been in discussion with Cardiff RFC over the closed season and are looking for your help in planning social events and activities for everyone to enjoy. If you have any suggestions or ideas – please let us know. With the move of the Blues to Leckwith it is more important than ever before to not only ‘get behind the team’ but to ‘Support Your Club’ in whatever way you can – by supporting social events and away trips, by using the clubhouse facilities and by sharing your ideas about you want from your Club !  Our contact details are overleaf. Our first event will be our Annual Dinner and I am delighted to confirm that we have secured the services of a very exciting guest speaker this year – Arms Park Favourite – Mr Mike Rayer !!!!  Tickets are selling fast so you are advised to book early !!!

Additionally we are in the final throes of organising a very special social event ‘ An Evening With Frank Hennessey’ which will take place in the Clubhouse. Tickets will be on sale shortly and will include the traditional Cardiff Clarks Pie & Chips ! This is likely to be a popular event so register your interest now via our email address or at the Cabin.

Cardiff Rugby Supporters’ Club Committee

At our AGM in June there were a number of changes to the committee. Our long standing Chairman, Simon Down stood down from his post as Chairman of the Supporters Club. ‘Statsman’ Simon has some strong views about the club and it’s direction but he always undertook his role with diplomacy and sensitivity. I am sure you will join me in thanking him for his service to CRSC over many years.

Simon is replaced as Chairman by Clive Davies who was our previous Treasurer – we wish Clive all the best in leading the committee during a time of change at the Arms Park.

Sharon Brewer was elected as Treasurer, replacing Clive and Christine Buss was elected as Membership Secretary. Christine replaces Jill Parker, who is remaining on our committee, as well as fulfilling her ongoing commitment to Cardiff RFC. John Morley and Becky McLean stood down from CRSC and were replaced by Dave Brewer and Marc Wakeham.

FORTHCOMING CRSC TRIPS ….

NEATH VS CARDIFF RFC                     Saturday 24^th October 2.30pm ko

Trips depart CAP at 12.30pm and leave venue at 4.30pm, and are all priced as follows:

Adult Members = £7, Concession Members = £5

Non Members – Adult = £10, Concessions = £7

We are also running a trip to see the CARDIFF BLUES in action against the SALE SHARKS on Friday 16^th October 2009. The trip departs CAP at 1.30pm, leaving Stockport approx 1 hour after the final whistle.

Prices:

Adult Members = £10, Concession Members = £7

Non Members – Adult = £15, Concessions = £12
